Right now we have one firefighter with a new born just out of surgery, in NICU, and will spend at least a month in the hospital; and one of our firefighters who has been diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. This is one of the most common in firefighters. This person will be off to surgery and recovery in just about a week.

The OBPFFA Local 4309 have organized a raffle for a shot gun to be drawn Sunday April, 13. Each ticket will be assigned a number and we’ll use a random number generator to randomly select the winner. Our plan is to go live on our page to do this. All proceeds will go to our guys/gals or to their families when they need help with extraordinary expenses and hurtles.

This recognition means so much to our department, as it highlights the skill, dedication, and professionalism of Escambia County’s finest. To have our firefighters featured in a magazine with such global reach is a testament to the exceptional work they do every day to protect and serve our community.
