Our club's monthly meeting will be this Tuesday, September 1st 5PM, one hour earlier than usual, and will be held at our storage shed in the maintainence area of Frank Jackson State Park. Reason for this temporary change is to gear up in preparation for our annual Scarecrows in the Park event.

The Frank Jackson Trail Masters will have our August monthly meeting on Tuesday the 4th, 6:00pm at the Opp Activity Center located at 500 N Brantley Street. Climate-controlled, comfortable seating; please bring your own refreshments.

There will be no July monthly meeting at the Opp Activity Center for the Trail Masters as was decided at our June meeting to consider our time at the Independence Day event to be our informal meeting. Our next meeting will be August 4th. There will be another posting of the August 4th meeting as a reminder. Thank you, enjoy your summer!

Everybody needs to come to Opp Saturday July 4th for the Independence Day celebration at Frank Jackson State Park. Bring your lawn chair, blanket, and swim wear and be ready for a day full of fun, food, and entertainment! Free admission after 10:00am. 2:00pm kickoff with the offering of prayer from Pastor Trey Poole of Opp Church of Christ, followed by a presentation by our local Post #23 AMVETS where they will recognize a "stand to attention" of service members by featuring each branch's song. Later on after 3, enjoy the live music Joseph Markel provides with his keyboardist and drummer accompaniment. The later show will be a great performance by Brandon Norris with his drummer, leading up to the singing of Our National Anthem by Sheriff Blake Turman; with the fireworks following at 8:30pm. Food trucks will be present along with the AMVETS selling burgers, sausage dogs, and soda. Plenty of shade, there is a swimming area, charcoal grills, picnic tables, and pavillions. Dogs must be on leash.
