These 24 high school students work for HFO assisting with programming for our younger students. We love taking the assets of our community and putting them to work right here on Madison St. helping inspire the next generation.

A huge congratulations to Scottie Scheffler on winning the 2026 TOUR Championship and earning his second FedExCup title, and to Opelousas’ own Ted Scott, who was right beside him as his caddie throughout the victory.

We’re proud to celebrate Ted’s role in this incredible accomplishment and even prouder of the heart he continues to show for Christ and the young people at Hope for Opelousas.

It was a scorcher, but we had a great day competing and supporting Opelousas Kiwanis Club. We were defending champions but ran into some stiff competition and took home 3rd place.

Are you passionate about pouring into middle school students during one of the most formative times in their lives? Hope for Opelousas is seeking a full-time Junior High Director who will walk alongside our students and families with Christ-centered mentorship, academic support, and unwavering love.
In this role, you’ll:

Provide one-on-one mentoring, biblical counseling, and discipleship

Lead our after-school tutoring program by helping students build strong study habits and grow in their faith.

Build deep relationships with students, parents, and our incredible team of Agents of Hope.

Help shape young lives so they experience real growth in academics, character, and hope.

Qualifications: Mature faith in Jesus, Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), 3+ years working with junior high youth, strong relational and organizational skills.

Do you have a heart for kids, a strong work ethic, and a passion for serving your community? We’re looking for motivated high school students to join our after-school tutoring team!

🕒 Hours: Monday–Thursday, 3:00–6:00 PM

As a tutor, you’ll:
• Build meaningful relationships with students
• Provide one-on-one and small group academic support
• Help with reading, homework, and enrichment activities
• Encourage and mentor elementary students in a positive, faith-filled environment

Extracurricular activities are absolutely fine, as long as they don’t conflict with the work schedule.

As we wrap up another incredible summer, our hearts are full of gratitude. 💙
