The scene is clear, and the roadway is back open.

EVERGREEN POST – A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 8:26 a.m. Sunday, March 1, has caused a lane closure. The left northbound lane of Interstate 65 near the 102 mile marker in Conecuh County is currently blocked and will be closed for an undetermined amount of time. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are on scene investigating and will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly.

🚨 Fallen Brother: James Paul Eastis – Killed in the Line of Duty 🚨

On Feb. 10, 2026, 73-year-old James Paul Eastis, a dedicated Fugitive Recovery Agent from Mulga, was shot and killed while executing a bond revocation in Blount County.

He faced the real dangers we all encounter daily in this profession—and paid the ultimate price.

James was a respected pro in our field, devoted husband (55 years to Sandra), father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His bravery and service won't be forgotten.

The Alabama Bail Bond Association set up this memorial fund to help Sandra and the family cover funeral costs, immediate needs, and support through this loss.

$10,000 REWARD ANNOUNCED IN THE MURDER FUGUTIVE RECOVERY AGENT JAMES PAUL EASTIS

This morning at the Blount County Sheriff's Office in Oneonta, Sheriff Mark Moon and Alabama Bail Bond Association President, Chris Mcneil held a joint press conference to announce a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Francisco Sinecio-Alvarez.

ABBA is contributing $5,000, matched by the Blount County Sheriff's Office, for a total of $10,000.

James Paul Eastis, a 73-year-old veteran bond recovery agent, was fatally shot on February 10, 2026, while lawfully executing a bond revocation at 151 Harris Road in Hayden, Blount County.
Suspect Francisco Sinecio-Alvarez (34–38 years old) remains at large and is considered armed and extremely dangerous — do NOT approach him.

Last seen in a light blue and white Ford F-150 stepside pickup with a solid white front passenger-side fender (recovered in West Birmingham).--Suspect pcitures in comments

U.S. Marshals are assisting the manhunt.
