OHPS is pleased to announce the winners of the 2026 Historic Preservation Awards.
Residential Category - “Toad Hill”- the beautiful home of Katherine “Kitty” Greene
Business Category - Old Timers and Chimers Clock Shop located in the “Gingerbread House”, John and Margaret Hendricks, owners
The awards will be presented at a special ceremony on Tuesday, May 12, 7pm- Brownfield House- 611 N. 8th Street- Opelika

It's time to celebrate "Membership 2025" as the Opelika Historic Preservation Society kicks off our 47th year!!! Come join us on Tuesday, October 28 for a special program and open house featuring guest speaker Kelsey Sullivan, Executive Director of Opelika Main Street. All are welcome October 28th, 7:00 pm at the historic Brownfield House located at 611 N. 8th Street, Opelika.
And if you can't attend in person, please respond to the membership campaign mailout! Your generous donations help to fund OPHS preservation grants and other important preservation projects.
