A 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bicycle ride and then a full-length marathon on hot, dry ground -- with no breaks in between: the legendary Ironman triathlon in Kona, Hawaii, is a bucket list goal for champion athletes. But when Minda Dentler decided to take it on, she had bigger aspirations than just another medal around her neck. She tells the story of how she conquered this epic race, and what it inspired her to do next.

"For a guy who's going through that kind of adversity, and he doesn't even flinch? It's pretty special. That shows the type of guy he is and what he's willing to overcome. He's breaking all barriers, really. He's willing to take every step, and I have nothing but respect for him. He stands out, but at the end of the day, he's a football player."

INDIANAPOLIS — When Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin came to the scouting combine, he knew he'd face skepticism from NFL teams. After all, Griffin's combine invite had come late—not until Jan...

"I got up and ran off the field, holding the ball up in the air with my one good hand and thinking that from that moment forward, nobody was ever going to tell me that I didn’t belong on a football field."

I only have one hand, and because of that, there have always been people who have questioned whether or not I could play this game.

Our society puts way too much emphasis on the body and not enough on the inside.

Our society puts way too much emphasis on the body and not enough on the inside.

It is true of course that God has created each and everyone of us different some people are short some people are tall, some with one arm, some with two. Our society puts way too much emphasis on the body and not enough on the inside. God doesn't do that. Remember what God told Samuel. "Don't judge by a mans Face or height. I do not make decisions the way you do. Men judge by outward appearance but I look at a man's thoughts and intentions." If being perfect was important to God then, Jesus Christ would have been a real hunk, right? But he wasn't.In Isaiah it says, "in our eyes there was no attractiveness at all, nothing to make us want him. "
You see Jesus wasn't perfect he may have been the same as any of us, yet he rocked the world because he walked with God. I think the thing that we need to concentrate on is walking with God. God has a plan for you and your differences are part of that plan. Give him a chance to do what he's going to do. Instead of asking why did God make me this way? Try to ask yourself how can I cooperate with God to help me become more loving and excepting of myself.
Love, Sarah

“I think that my parents certainly instilled in me the idea that challenges weren’t necessarily things to run away from, but just opportunities to grow,” he said. “They probably instilled this idea of working hard for everything because I had to. In order to survive and do daily routine stuff, I really had to work twice as hard.”
