Today we wanted to share a few of our most recent Google Reviews.
When selecting a child development center or daycare for your child, I can’t express enough the importance of doing your research, taking tours, and asking questions!
Your child will spend a significant amount of time in this environment, so don’t choose a childcare program based solely on convenience, location, or price. Look beyond the building and find out what is happening inside the classrooms.
Here are a few things to ask about and look for when selecting childcare:
1. Staff & Child Retention – How long have the teachers been there? Is there frequent staff turnover? Do children typically remain enrolled for extended periods of time?
2. Curriculum – Is there an intentional curriculum? What are the children learning each day? Is the program preparing children academically, socially, emotionally, and developmentally?
3. Safety, Licensing & Policies – Is the center properly licensed? What safety procedures are in place? Ask about background checks, emergency procedures, illness policies, security, and how incidents are handled. Ask about professional development and training-this is important.
4. Teacher-to-Child Ratios & Classroom Environment – How many children are assigned to each teacher? Are classrooms organized, clean, engaging, and developmentally appropriate? Do teachers interact with children or simply supervise them?
Don’t be afraid to ask the hard questions.
Your child deserves more than a place to stay while you work. Do your research. Take the tour. Ask the questions. And talk t ither parents about their experience. Your child is worth it!
