Avery McCary represented NAACP ACTSO Miami-Dade 5116-B at this year’s National ACT-SO Competition in Chicago. Avery participated in the Photography category. He is a rising freshman at Florida A&M University. Special thanks to President Derrick Johnson and Mayor Brandon Johnson for showing love and interest in our student’s project. Your support goes a long way. 🤗

Yesterday, we experienced the 49th National ACT-SO Ceremony. The room was filled with talented youth from all over the United States, in the areas of: STEM, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Humanities, Entrepreneurship and Culinary. We’re grateful we were able to provide our students from South Florida this amazing opportunity. ✨

This Sunday, at the ACT-SO Awards Ceremony, we will celebrate the culmination of a year of mentorship, scholastic enrichment, and community-building hosted by NAACP units across the country.

Hosted by actor Kelvin Harrison Jr. the ceremony will honor the achievement and excellence of our gifted ACT-SO scholars.
