"Healing The Heroes" is a grass roots, total volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 origination that believes in the power of therapeutical healing of our wounded veterans through the Great American Outdoors. Our motto is "Healing Heroes Through Hunting", however there is more to a hunt than the hunt it's self. We believe in the power of camaraderie, something the military and combat has instowed in our so

ldiers. It's huge in the healing process. "Healing The Heroes" provides annual, totally free, turn-key "getaway trips" for our veterans and spouses. Something for them to plan for and look forward to all year long. A chance for our wounded vet's to swap stories, laugh, share hardships and leave their problems behind. Even if it's just for a weekend. "Healing The Heroes" is honored to say "Thank you" and give something back to those who gave so much.

Laurence Wayne Larsen passed away Monday, February 14, 2022 at his home in Cozad at the age of 69. Wayne was born January 8, 1953 in Ogallala, Nebraska to Keith and Betty Shuey Larsen. He grew up in Grant, Nebraska on the family farm and graduated from Grant High School.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, this years Pheasant hunt has been postponed. We are working out some new dates and will update as soon as new information is available. Bo Wilson, Matt Baxter and Brain Gatton we will make this up to you!

A huge thank you to the Cozad and Ogallala Elks for another awesome pheasant hunt for our veterans. We at Healing The Heroes can't thank you enough for all your hard work and dedication to putting on this event the past 2 years. Also a huge shout out to Austin and his dog "Sam" who work tirelessly to put the guys on birds.
