The timber industry was a big help in creating the Ontonagon County we know today.

Here is a photo showing the old locomotive and steam crane that would load logs onto a train.

You can see the workers moving so quickly that they were just a blur in the photo.

Looking for a river with multiple waterfalls? Check out Bonanza Falls on the Big Iron River in Ontonagon County!

There is a long stretch of multiple falls ranging from five to ten feet tall.

It is a short walk from the parking lot to the falls, and in the autumn, keep your eyes open for fruiting apple trees!
