Thank you to Kori Roger's for volunteering and cleaning the clubhouse while Wyatt Allen, Chad Brown, Mike Sasse and I cleaned the groomer barns. Thanks to Chad for helping to finish the tools inventory. Check out the attached picture.
A special thank you and shoutout to Barry and his staff at Auto Value in Ontonagon for their generous donation of shelving for use in the groomer barn.

⚠️Attention: Annual Spring Trail Closures⚠️ - Pioneer (P) Trail from Bergland to Victoria and 2 1/2 miles of the LL Route in Paulding. The Ottawa National Forest provided ORV land use permit to operate the Pioneer (P) Trail and the LL Route in Paulding. A condition of the use is that there is to be no wheeled vehicles from March 15th thru May 14th. This is to minimize resource damage during the spring thaw. MI-TRALE has spent over $60,000/year on the Pioneer and over $25,000 on the LL Route to ensure they are safe for the riders. We ask that you support MI-TRALE and stay off the Pioneer and the Paulding section of the LL until May 15th.

Trail Report 3/22:

We went out and inspected some of our system and found Ma Nature had done some real damage.

The trails are rideable and some are still in good condition. Unfortunately to safely get groomers to those areas we have to cross swamps, open water, running water and failing snow bridges.

We are going to cease grooming operations and barring an unexpected change in the forecast, will not restart.

We had a hard season and really need more help, if you have a desire to groom, please p.m. us.

Thank you for coming up, thank you for all the kind words, see ya next year and ride the 906!!!

Trail Report 3/20:

We finished our ride yesterday on Trail 137 to Trail 13 to 101 to 12 back to White Pine. The snow had turned to mashed potatoes but trails for the most part were smooth and holding up well.

There are bare spots, standing water, running water, deteriorating snow bridges, and any roadside trail is bare, pretty typical late season riding.

Friday should still be a good day for riding.

Due to high temps we have halted all grooming operations.

Will go back out Sunday to assess the damage Ma Nature is causing.

Ride the 906.

Out riding with Mama Sledhead. Hit Trail #12 from White Pine to Greenland. I would rate it "very good" with the exception being the the 2 miles running the farm fields along HWY 38. The wind drifted snow across and it's bumpy.

Having lunch at Boondock Inn in Twin Lakes.

Thank you to our Groomers, Wyatt Jay and Josh and The U.P. Superior Snowmobile Club !!

March 18 Trail Report:

A big THANK YOU to Groomer Josh and Tractor Mac for some late season magic.

We are out riding them and they are awesome!!

Rode the ribbon on 101!

Runoff water is moving, the little bit of cold we've had did not slow it down. Our snow bridges are failing. We are rebuilding them but Ma Nature is slowly winning the battle.

Trail #12 along LP Walsh road has 4 snow bridges, all are narrowing. Trail #1 between South Boundary Road and The Porkies Ski Hill has 2 that are the same. Please use extreme caution.

A warm-up is forecast. Temps at night barely below freezing for a couple hours the next 3 nights with highs in the 40's. Fingers crossed they are wrong.

Come up and ride the 906 quick!!

Mother Nature gave us another week!

Thank you Groomer Jay and Tractor Mac.

We groomed our entire system except Trail #12 from Trail #137 to Greenland, which was groomed the night before.

All trails are fair to very good, it's Spring riding conditions with some standing water and reduced/failing snow bridges.

The snow bridges along LP Walsh Rd. are narrow. The snow bridge between South Boundary Road and The Porkies Ski Hill has running water and is failing but passable, please use caution when riding.

Ride the 906!!

Groomer Jay is out on trail 12. This recent picture is on his return trip to the groomer barn after doing trail 12 from Greenland to White Pine and back.
Not a single set of sled tracks...trails are setting up nicely with this snow and colder temps.
Thanks again for your time and experience in keeping our trails UP.

NCSC groomers Wyatt and Jay are heading out from Ontonagon as I'm writing this. They will be doing the grade (Trail 137) to Greenland (Trail 12). They'll turn around and head back to the junction. The plan is to take 12 to LP Walsh Rd. Then take Trail 101 to 13. Then 13 back to the grade (137) and take the grade back to Ontonagon.
Tonight Groom Chad, out of White Pine, will do Lake of the Clouds (LOTC) (Trail 1) and South Boundary (Trail 11).
Please ride right and ride carefully. There are still water areas and blowing snow, reducing visibility.
Be safe and please come North to DA UP, and enjoy our winter snowmobiling season. You should be able to ride until the grooming stops at the end of the month.
