Today, we want to shine a light on someone very special: our volunteer spotlight, Maddie. 🧡💙
Recently, Maddie took 25 Love’s Reflection gift bags with her during her Miss Ohio tour and shared them with children at a local school. Inside each bag was a simple reminder:
“You are seen. You are beautiful. You are loved.”
What happened next touched all of our hearts. A few of the children became emotional because they shared they didn’t have toys at home. In that moment, we were reminded why Love’s Reflection exists.
This mission has never been about “things.”
It’s about making people feel seen.
It’s about reminding children they matter.
It’s about showing love through action.
Maddie, thank you for carrying the heart of Love’s Reflection wherever you go. Your kindness, compassion, and willingness to serve others are making a real difference in this world. You are the kind of person who brings light into the lives of others simply by showing up with love.
As you continue your journey toward Miss Ohio, please know we are all cheering you on. We truly believe your heart, character, and passion for helping others make you a winner already, but we also have a feeling you are bringing that crown home. 👑✨
The world needs more people like Maddie.
And the world needs more love in action.

After many months of planning, we officially kicked off our partnership with Akron Children’s Hospital — and the day could not have gone any better. 🧡💙

What we witnessed on Sunday was far more than just an event. It was a day filled with smiles, laughter, connection, and unconditional love. Seeing these incredible children and their families experience joy, even if only for a few hours, is something we will never forget.

We want every family we serve to know this:
You are seen.
You are loved.
And you are not alone.

A huge thank you to all of the volunteers, vendors, board members, police officers, firefighters, and everyone who helped make this day possible. Your kindness and compassion created moments these families will carry with them forever.

Most importantly, thank you to the brave children and families who trusted us enough to spend the day with us. You are the reason behind everything we do.

And finally, thank you to Akron Children’s Hospital for believing in our mission and helping us become a bridge to the families who need love and support the most.

🦇 Not all heroes wear capes…
…but this one did.

Shoutout to my brother, Alex Smith.

Sponsor. Volunteer. Batman.

He pulled up in a convertible, suited up, and gave these kids a moment they’ll never forget—smiles, laughter, and pure joy for families who needed it most.

But this wasn’t just for show. This is who Alex is. He leads with heart, shows up for others, and turns love into action.

Proud of you, man.
Those kids didn’t just meet Batman… they met the heart behind the mask.

This one means a lot to me.
In this photo is my friend Steve Johnson. When he was a young boy, he lost his father, a true hero who passed while trying to save someone from drowning.
Today, we were able to give him something special, a custom painting of him and his dad.
A moment, captured forever.
That’s what Love’s Reflection is about.
Showing up, honoring love, and reminding people that those connections never fade.
What would love do now?

💙 BIG UPDATE: LOVE IN ACTION DAY 💙
We are officially less than 30 days away from our kickoff event with Akron Children's Hospital, and we couldn’t be more excited.
When this partnership began, we had no idea just how many local children were in Palliative Care.
Across Richland, Ashland, Knox, and Wayne Counties, there are nearly 120 children.
And the truth is, people don’t talk about it.
Every single one of these children is being invited to this special day, a day where they can simply be kids again, without the weight of their illness.
A day filled with smiles, laughter, and love.
At the same time, their parents will be surrounded by support, both from us and from one another, because no one should walk this journey alone.
These families are the reason Love’s Reflection was founded.
We are here to stand beside them.

💖 Volunteer Spotlight: Kendra Woodruff 💖

Kendra brings her incredible creative marketing talent to Love’s Reflection, using her gifts to help us share unconditional love in action. Her passion for giving back is deeply personal—after being supported by a nonprofit during a time of need, she now pours her heart into helping others in the same way.

Her favorite saying says it all: “Together we can make anything happen.”

Kendra plays a huge role behind the scenes—designing beautiful artwork for our mailers, social media, thank you cards, and invitations, while also helping monitor and manage our website. Her creativity helps us tell our story in a way that truly connects and inspires.

We are incredibly grateful for everything Kendra does and deeply admire her heart for serving others. She is a shining example of what it means to put unconditional love into action.
