Desert Storm Division/ TS Lane Victory, U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps

http://desertstormdivision.com Desert Storm Division of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps. This is a non-profit youth organization for ages 10-17.

Sea Cadets with Desert Storm Division meet twice a month on the second and fourth Saturday of every month from 8:00am (0800) until 4:00pm (1600). During this time they receive both hands on and classrooom instruction on military etiquette, customs and courtesies, military heritage and other aspects pertaining to the sea services. In addition to classroom instruction, Cadets also are required to pa

rtake in physical training or "PT" and military drill. Desert Storm Division also routinely attends other events such as tours of bases and ships, marching in parades, and helping out at community events. We are starting up NLCC Training Ship Lane Victory. The Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC) is for boys and girls, at least 10 1/2 but not yet 13 years old, who are interested in the sea and ships, and our nations seagoing services. The Navy League program is designed to introduce young people to maritime and military life, and to prepare them for later entrance into the Naval Sea Cadet Corps. NSCC welcomes requests for reasonable accommodations to medical or physical limitations in a cadet’s ability to participate.

From early morning drop-offs to late nights preparing for drills— from prestigious awards and promotions to far away graduations; our Desert Storm mothers have been there for it all. Whether they have chosen to serve our cadets by volunteering, or are deeply invested in their cadet's career, our mothers are the foundation that allows our cadets to flourish.

Two drills ago Desert Storm Division cadets visited the California Science Center!

Cadets toured the science center learning about space, fire science, ecosystems, engineering and much more. This was a fun and informative experience for all cadets giving them an opportunity to get out in the public and explore the world of science!

Bravo Zulu to APC Levi Resendiz who was nominated and selected as the Desert Storm Division and Region 11-5 league cadet of the year.

APC Resendiz has maintained the highest attendance rate in the unit, displays continuous effort and improvement during practice and offcial PRTs, and is always seeking opportunities to learn from and teach his fellow cadets.

Congratulations to all the cadets on a successful Annual Inspection. Let us continue to strive for excellence going forward!

Training for a better future!
This winter training cycle Desert Storm Division participated in Operations Specialist Training, Honors and Ceremonies Training, and Petty Officer Leadership Academy at Camp San Luis Obispo.
Bravo Zulu to SA Paisley Castro, PO3 Mia Galvan, PO3 Abby Cunanan, and LT Edgar Colon for participating and completing training this winter!
We are grateful for all the knowledge and experience they will bring back to the unit!
