Lampkin Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization (Tax ID: 81-5424366) operating programs throughout California that have a significant impact in a wide range of issue areas, including education, economic development, civic engagement, health and wellness, and providing healthy alternatives for under-served communities. The Lampkin Foundation is governed by a volunteer group of board of di

rectors. The Foundation will carries on the initiatives and work started by D’Andre Lampkin such as the Breath Giving Portraits Project, which began in 2011, the Developing Neighborhood Agriculture Initiative, and the Disaster Relief Effort. The Foundations initiatives focus on providing resources and manpower to projects that foster opportunity, collaboration, and stakeholdership. A California native, D’Andre Lampkin was born and raised in the economically deprived region of South Central Los Angeles by a single mother. Lampkin Foundation began as one man’s dream to see stakeholders work together to tackle some of the biggest problems facing underserved communities by developing and participating in projects and initiatives that impact and benefit the largest number of people in a region in the largest way possible.

Nonprofits in disaster response serve as force multipliers by extending public-sector capacity, connecting emergency agencies with trusted community networks, and supporting survivors throughout long-term recovery. Disaster response is most visible through the work of firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel, public health officials, emergency managers, and government agencies. These professionals carry legal authorities and operational responsibilities that cannot be transferred to charitable organizations. Yet nearly every major disaster also reveals another essential layer of the response system: nonprofit, faith-based, philanthropic, and community-based organizations.

Extreme heat is often treated as a public-information problem: issue an alert, open cooling centers, advise residents to hydrate, and wait for the weather to pass. The current U.S. and international heat waves demonstrate why that model is insufficient. Heat is a slow-moving disaster that can overwhelm hospitals, strain utilities, disrupt transportation, endanger older adults, intensify risk for unhoused residents, and expose gaps in public-health coordination long before a formal disaster declaration is considered.

🇺🇸 A Vision Built Together. A Community Celebrated Together. 🏆

The D'Andre D. Lampkin Foundation is honored to announce that our educational parade float received the 2026 Chaffey Heritage Award during the City of Ontario's Independence Day Parade.

Created in celebration of America's 250th Birthday, the award-winning exhibit honored legendary architect Paul Revere Williams while commemorating the 100th anniversary of Ontario's historic Post Office, one of the many landmarks designed by Williams that continues to serve our community today.

More than a parade float, this project became an opportunity to educate, inspire, and celebrate the history that connects us. Throughout the parade, families stopped to explore the exhibit, children asked questions about Paul Revere Williams' remarkable legacy, and community members reflected on the importance of preserving Ontario's rich architectural heritage.

This recognition belongs to everyone who helped bring the vision to life.

Thank you to our dedicated volunteers whose countless hours of planning, construction, and encouragement made this project possible.

Thank you to Empire Printing & Publishing, Inc. for transforming our vision into beautiful large-format displays that became the centerpiece of the exhibit.

Thank you to The Home Depot Ontario for supporting the project with materials and encouragement as the float came together.

And thank you to the City of Ontario, California, the Chaffey Heritage Committee, parade organizers, and every community member who stopped to celebrate with us.

This project reminds us that community resilience is built not only through preparedness, but also through education, historic preservation, volunteerism, and partnerships that bring people together around a shared purpose.

🇺🇸Celebrating America's 250th Birthday—One Community at a Time. 🇺🇸

Tomorrow, the D'Andre D. Lampkin Foundation is honored to participate in the City of Ontario's 4th of July Independence Day Parade with a float celebrating one of America's greatest architects, Paul Revere Williams.

This year is especially significant because it marks the 100th Anniversary of Ontario's historic Post Office, one of the many buildings designed by Paul Revere Williams that continues to serve our community nearly a century later.

Williams' remarkable legacy reminds us that the places we build today can inspire generations tomorrow. His work transformed skylines, strengthened neighborhoods, and demonstrated that vision, perseverance, and excellence have the power to overcome barriers and leave a lasting impact.

Our Foundation believes community resilience is built the same way—through service, collaboration, and investing in people.
