Meet Sunny! ☀️💚

Sunny is a sweet, affectionate girl with a big personality and plenty of energy! She absolutely loves attention and is always ready to give her favorite people plenty of kisses and hugs.

Sunny is smart, listens well, and already knows basic commands. She is also very treat and toy motivated, making continued training a great way to keep her engaged and build a bond with her. With her active personality, Sunny would make an amazing hiking or adventure buddy for someone who enjoys getting out and staying busy!

Sunny would do best as the only pet in the home. She likes to chase cats and can be selective about which dogs she enjoys being around. Because she can get a little enthusiastic with her hugs and kisses, she would also do best in a home without young children.

Sunny may need a specific kind of home, but we know the right family is out there for her. She has so much love and personality to share and would thrive with someone willing to give her the exercise, structure, continued training, and affection she deserves. 💚

Meet Maisey! 🐾

For the past 44 days, Maisey has been waiting for someone to give her the second chance she deserves.

This beautiful German Shepherd mix is sweet, loving, playful, and always ready to spend time with the people she loves. She was recently returned to the shelter after not getting along with another female dog in the home. Since returning, we haven't observed that behavior here, and we're continuing to monitor her as she settles back into shelter life.

What we do know is that Maisey has a wonderful personality. She does great with kids, loves affection, and would make a loyal companion for a family looking for an active best friend. She has not yet been tested with cats.

Meet Lillie & Louie!

These adorable siblings are looking for the forever homes they deserve.

Lillie, a beautiful calico tabby, and Louie, a handsome orange tabby, came to us after they were abandoned with their mother. Despite their difficult start in life, they've grown into sweet, loving, and playful cats who are ready to begin their next chapter with a family of their own.

Lillie can be a little reserved when meeting new people and appreciates a slow introduction. With a little patience, a few gentle scratches, and maybe a treat or two, her affectionate personality quickly shines through. Louie is curious, playful, and always eager to explore, making him the perfect companion for anyone looking for a fun-loving feline friend (even steals spotlights too!).

☀️ Keeping Your Pets Safe in the Summer Heat

With the August temperatures, your pet's safety is our top priority. Shade will be available throughout the clinic, and we'll have fresh ice water available for dogs.

Our staff will closely monitor brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds—such as Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, and similar breeds—for signs of heat stress. If conditions become too warm, we may ask one family member to remain in the air-conditioned vehicle with the pet while another waits in line. These accommodations help keep everyone safe while still providing timely care.

Clinic Rules
• Dogs must be on a leash or carried.
• Cats must be in secure carriers.
• An adult (18+) must be present to handle all pets.
• Please clean up after your pet.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to keep both you and your pets comfortable. We look forward to seeing you this August and helping keep your furry family members happy and healthy!

🐾 Looking for a new best friend? Meet Charlie, Hope & Kate!

These three sweet cats came to us together after a kind-hearted person took them in from the streets and gave them the love, patience, and care they needed to become the wonderful companions they are today. Now, they're ready to find families of their own.

Charlie – Flame Point Siamese (Approx. 1 year old)
Hope – Domestic Medium Hair Tabby & White (Approx. 8 months old)
Kate – Domestic Shorthair Brown Tabby (Approx. 9 months old)

Each is spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and negative for FIV/FeLV.

While they're all incredibly sweet, they can be a little shy when meeting new people and will need a patient family willing to let them adjust at their own pace. Once they feel comfortable, they're affectionate, gentle companions who simply want a place to call home.

They do well with other cats, have not been tested with dogs, and would do best with respectful, patient children who understand that trust takes time.
If you're looking to change a life, consider opening your heart to Charlie, Hope, or Kate. After everything they've been through, they deserve the safety and love of a forever home.

Cinnamon is a 3-year-old Terrier mix with a heart full of love and a zest for life! This sweet girl has been patiently waiting at the shelter for far too long, and we know her perfect family is out there.

Cinnamon is incredibly affectionate, full of energy, and always ready for her next adventure. She loves to explore and would thrive in an active home that can keep up with her fun-loving personality. Whether it's hiking, long walks, or simply playing in the yard, Cinnamon is happiest when she's on the move with the people she loves.

🐾 Meet Kona! 🐾

Kona is an approximately 1-year-old Carolina Dog & German Shepherd mix looking for a family to call her own!

Kona is a sweet and loyal girl who hasn't been with us for very long. We're still getting to know her as she settles in and becomes more comfortable, but so far, she has shown us that she is willing to trust and has so much love to give.

According to her former owner, Kona does great with other dogs, has been around younger children, and has even met cats—showing little interest in them. And if you have a pool or love the water, Kona may be the perfect match because she loves to swim! 💦🐶

Kona is housebroken, leash-trained and knows her basic commands. She's spayed, current on vaccinations and flea prevention, and microchipped.

Kona is simply looking for the right family who can give her the love, dedication, and companionship she's been craving. Could that be you? 💚

West End Shelter for Animals will be closed on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in observance of Independence Day. We will resume normal business hours on Sunday, July 5, at 10:00 a.m.

As you celebrate, please remember that the Fourth of July is one of the busiest times of the year for lost pets. Keep pets safely indoors, ensure gates are secure, and verify that their microchip and ID tags are up to date.
