A huge thank you to the Idaho-Oregon Buddhist Temple for having us at your annual Obon festivities. From the delicious bentos and gorgeous kimonos to the joyful odori dancing and powerful taiko drums Sangha Taiko, it was such a wonderful time! 🌸 🏮

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Four Rivers Cultural Center and Museum for presenting the Seeds of Peace film, directed by David Hedberg, it was an incredibly moving documentary, and we loved seeing the local connections and community history woven throughout. 🎬❤️🌳

Join us for Obon Festival on Saturday, July 18, as we come together to honor Japanese traditions, enjoy community activities, and celebrate with family and friends. Obon Festival is FREE to attend and family-friendly.

Schedule highlights:

- Theatre Doors open at 1:00 PM for Seeds of Peace Film
- Seeds of Peace film at 1:30 PM
$5 to watch the film the tickets are available online or at the door

- Obon Activities from 3:00 PM–8:00 PM
- Obon Japanese food available for purchase starting at 3:00 PM

Enjoy Odori dancing, a historic display in the Harano Gallery, an “Ask a Minister” booth, the Gift Shop, Hikaru Mizu Japanese Garden tours, and museum tours.

An unforgettable afternoon of music and history at Four Rivers Cultural Center and Museum. Minidoka Swing Band and their two amazing vocalists filled the room with timeless classics. It was a powerful celebration honoring the resilience and enduring spirit of the Japanese American community. Grateful for an inspiring evening of music and connection. Thank you to everyone who attended.🎶✨

Obon odori (Dance) practice will be at the Four Rivers Cultural Center in Ontario Oregon this week on July 12 (Sunday), July 14 (Tuesday), and July 16 (Thurs). All practices at 6pm. Don't be shy--dancing is for everyone.
