Today on Memorial Day, we honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸
We especially remember the brave soldiers who served in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team during WWII — a primarily Japanese American unit that became one of the most highly decorated in U.S. history. Their courage, sacrifice, and “Go For Broke” spirit will never be forgotten.
If you have family members who served, especially in the 442nd, we would love to honor them as well. Please share their names below. ❤️

On Thursday, May 14, Carol Tolman and Janet Koda gave a presentation at the Nyssa Public Library as part of the One Book One Coast event.

Guests had the opportunity to hear Carol and Janet share their family’s remarkable personal experiences connected to the Cow Hollow farm labor camp while discussing “They Called Us Enemy” by George Takei. Their heartfelt stories brought history to life and created a meaningful evening of reflection, learning, and community conversation.

We are grateful to Carol and Janet for sharing such an important and deeply personal part of their family history with our community.
