We have been reflecting a lot on the recent accident that occurred on C.R. 59 in Morrow County. It has been a true testament to the county as a whole to see it come together and lift up all those affected. Please continue to support these families, and make no mistake, this will ripple and affect many forever. In the next few days, weeks, months, and years, there will be times when they will need support. Please do so. Evil will reveal itself in the aftermath of this tragedy. Just like it did in our loss. We ask, above all, that you stand and support those left behind in this disaster. I want to leave you with a passage from Abigail herself. A message hanging on her bedroom mirror.

17 years old today. We did exactly what you always wanted to do. We were here for your 15th birthday and on the way here the rainbow made me feel like you were happy we were celebrating.
We were so happy that the Senete Bill 256 passed and you your legacy will always be attached to that in some way.
So many people posted about you today and miss you so much. Till my last breath and ever after love you kiddo.

What a big day yesterday we had at the Ohio Statehouse. We are still waiting on more pictures and media coverage to share, but we wanted to get information out. We meet Governor Dewine, who is also an Organ Transplant father. His daughter Becky passed away from a car accident and became an organ donor.
With the passing of House Bill 256 starting in August of 2025, Ohioans will be asked if they would like to be donors when they purchase a hunting or fishing license. We have been working on the passage of this bill for a while. We testified in April 2024 in front of the Ohio Senate Health Committee, explaining the impact and importance of this bill. We didn't expect this to be law this soon.
Abbi's 17th Birthday is on the 27th of December. What a fantastic birthday present to know that the entire state will be asking if they want to be an organ donor when they buy a hunting and fishing license, and our girl was part of that. We will share more pictures as they become available.

Big news for Ohio! Governor DeWine has signed House Bill 256, allowing Ohioans to say “YES” to organ donation when registering for hunting and fishing licenses.

The Carey family was present for this special moment. Abbi Carey, a passionate advocate for organ donation and an outdoor enthusiast, became a donor hero after her passing. Her father, Matthew Carey, received a life-saving heart transplant, which inspired Abbi to share the importance of saying “YES” to donation. Earlier this year, Matthew testified in support of this impactful bill.
