ONTARIO POLICE ANNOUNCES GRADUATION OF RECRUIT FROM POLICE ACADEMY

ONTARIO, Ore. July 15, 2022 – Ontario Police Department is pleased to announce that their most recent Police Recruit, Officer Brandon Mitchell, has successfully completed Oregon’s Basic Police Academy in Salem, Oregon and is returning to Ontario to complete his field training and assignment to patrol division.

Recruit Officer Mitchell completed 16-weeks (640 hours) of academy training in the Basic Police Class #414 at Oregon’s Public Safety Academy. He will now move to the field training and evaluation segments where he will receive on-the-job training by field training officers to further enhance skills learned at the academy. Field training and evaluation, generally, takes approximately three months to complete, which ensures the officer is solo patrol ready.

Ontario Police is fortunate to have Recruit Officer Mitchell join our team, bringing with him experience as a Police Cadet from the Ashland, Oregon Police Department and Oregon Department of Corrections. His previous experience and newly acquired training provides a foundation to expedite his job readiness.

Ontario Police looks forward to the community meeting Recruit Officer Mitchell. Please join us in congratulating him on his accomplishment and commitment to our agency and community.
