We wanted to share a quick update— all engraved pickets have officially been installed and are ready for viewing at Leonard C. Lopes Memorial Park.

Phase 2 will be starting over the coming months and is not expected to interrupt the playground area.

We’re looking forward to a fun summer ahead ☀️
Friendly reminder: free parking is available across the street at Hynes Field.

🎄 Holiday Engraved Pickets Now Available 🎄

CORE will be offering engraved pickets as a meaningful holiday gift during Christmas in the Village at the Glen Cove Hotel on December 13th from 12–4 PM. Santa and local vendors will be onsite for a festive community event.

There are limited pickets remaining, and they make thoughtful gifts for grandparents, parents, families, and anyone who loves Onset. Each engraved picket becomes a lasting part of the Leonard C. Lopes Inclusive Playground and supports the addition of new park amenities.

🍕 Holiday Season Bonus:
Marc Anthony’s has generously donated a $20 gift card with every picket purchased between December 13th and December 31st.

Wareham CORE would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Read Custom Soils, an A.D. Makepeace Company, for their incredible support! 💚

Thanks to their generous donation of stabilized stonedust, we were able to:

✅ Build a fully ADA-accessible perimeter walkway
✅ Refurbish the community baseball diamond
✅ Add two new inclusive play structures

This contribution isn’t just material—it’s transformational. It represents a commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and multigenerational recreation for the entire Wareham community.

The new ADA pathway, already under construction, will open doors—literally and figuratively—for children, seniors, parents, and caregivers of all abilities to walk, roll, play, and connect safely.

You may have seen Peter out and about in Onset—bright vest, big smile, and always a trash bag in hand. Every single day, Peter quietly and humbly helps keep our village clean.

Even when no one’s watching, Peter shows up. He walks our streets, picks up litter, and leads by example. Not with speeches—but with action.

He may describe himself as a little shy, but through his daily efforts, he’s met so many kind and appreciative neighbors.

Peter is a reminder that community pride doesn’t require a title or a stage—just heart, dedication, and a commitment to doing the right thing.
