Several strong to severe storms will be expected to cross though much of the forecast area between mainly 5PM and midnight tonight. The primary hazards will be damaging thunderstorm wind gusts (up to 70 MPH) with large hail (up to the size of ping pong balls). An isolated tornado or two can't be ruled out.

A complex of strong to severe thunderstorms is expected to work its way east-southeast across the region today, mainly focused near and south of the Nebraska-Kansas state line. The primary concern is damaging straight-line winds, though large hail and isolated tornadoes will be possible as well. In addition, these storms will have the potential to drop very heavy rainfall, which could lead to some localized flooding. Be sure to stay weather-aware today, and have multiple ways to get warning information!
