🎉 Celebrating Unity All Week Long! 🎉

We are celebrating the unification of ACHIEVE and The Arc Madison Cortland all week long — and today, we kicked off something truly special! ❤️🧡💛

We launched our Unity Time Capsule Project, inviting individuals and staff from across our entire five-county organization to share a message about what they are most looking forward to for the future of ACHIEVE.

These messages, along with photos from across our organization, will continue to be collected throughout this celebration. We’ll then share how and where they will be preserved as a snapshot of this incredible moment in our shared history.

In five years (symbolizing our new five county reach), we’ll open our Unity Time Capsule and look back at the hopes, dreams, and excitement we shared in this moment. We’ll see how far we’ve come, what we’ve accomplished, and — most importantly — what we’ve built together.

🎉 Unity Day Parade! 🎉

What better way to celebrate our official unification than with a parade! ❤️💙

Following today’s press conference, staff and individuals supported from all five counties came together to march around our building in our Unity Day Parade, proudly showing their unity, their , and their excitement for this incredible new chapter!

There were smiles, cheers, laughter, and plenty of along the way. 🥳 It was an amazing opportunity for people from across our organization to come together, connect, and celebrate what we are building as one organization.

After the parade, everyone gathered for lunch and cake — and, just as importantly, time to get to know one another. 🍰❤️

Today was truly an incredible day and such a wonderful example of the excitement, energy, and possibilities we know are ahead. We are stronger together, and this is only the beginning!

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate, participate, cheer, and share in this historic moment.

This morning, we celebrated a truly historic milestone: the official unification of ACHIEVE and The Arc Madison Cortland! ❤️💙

We marked this exciting new chapter with a press conference filled with gratitude, excitement, and hope for all that lies ahead. It was incredibly meaningful to have participants and staff from all five counties come together to celebrate what this unification means for our organization and, most importantly, for the people we support.

We are especially grateful to today’s incredible speakers, who helped put into words just how meaningful this moment is and demonstrated their strong support for our organization including Erik Geizer - CEO of The Arc New York, Senator Peter Oberacker, Assemblyman Joe Angelino, Assemblyman Chris Tague, Darlene Croston - New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities, Penny Stringfield - Ad Elements, Meredith Mertens - ACHIEVE’s Vice President of Incident Management, Brandon Armstrong - Direct Support Professional at Envisions, and Amy Howard - CEO of ACHIEVE, our newly combined entity.

We were also honored to hear from individuals supported by our organization. RJ shared how he has already been making new friends through this unification — a wonderful reminder that this is about building connections and creating a stronger community together. ❤️

And Patrick brought a special connection to our history, as his parents were among the original families who helped create ACHIEVE. Hearing his perspective reminded us of how far we’ve come and the generations of families, staff, and advocates who have helped shape our organization.

Today wasn’t just about celebrating a merger. It was about celebrating unity, community, history, and possibility.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us, supported us, and helped make this milestone so special. This is just the beginning — and we can’t wait to see what we accomplish together!

🎉 Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter!

As of today, September 1st, ACHIEVE and The Arc Madison Cortland are officially one unified organization, now serving individuals and families across Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Madison, and Tioga counties under the ACHIEVE name.

This is more than a change in name or structure — it’s an opportunity to bring together two strong organizations, more than 800 dedicated employees, and the experience, ideas, and passion that will help us make an even greater impact for the more than 3,500 people we support.

Today, we’re celebrating Unity Day and the people who make our mission possible. 💙 We’re excited to share this moment with our employees, the people we serve, families, supporters, community partners, and friends who have been part of this journey.

Our Senior Day Hab program is highlighting someone each month and presenting them with a personalized award. We want to congratulate Penny for being the recipient this month and receiving a Kindness Award. Pennys always shows up with a smile and is eager to spread it to those around her. Congrats Penny!
