Joining Hands for a Better Community

My generation is called the Millennial Generation. While I don’t speak for all millennials, I do care about a lot of things, like the environment, alternative energy, technology, and how federal and other governmental policies affect our people, our sovereignty, and our land.

I didn’t grow up in a two-room cabin without plumbing and running water, like many of my elders did. But, my mother described the kind of life she and her mother and grandmother had in Oneida, WI in the 1950s and 1960s. I know life was difficult for our elders, and that they wanted to make life better for their children. When I was born, I grew up in housing projects and we struggled at times, too.

I appreciate the hard work our elders did for their families and for others. I also appreciate what previous tribal leaders did to improve our tribal economy, housing, and create new jobs since that time.

I am running for office so that I too can help build a better Nation and stronger community.
