A local motorcycle club gathered a record amount of food for area pantries during its 13th-annual food drive.

The El Forastero Motorcycle Club of Okoboji gathered more than 2,000 pounds of food last month for Upper Des Moines Opportunity in O'Brien and Dickinson Counties. According to Kelley Peters, one of the club's members, it was the largest amount of food collected by EFMC in terms of bulk.

"For this food drive and now more than ever, it's greatly needed," Peters said. "We were just tickled pink with the amount we received this year."
