I know this is the second post today that’s kinda‑sorta about me… but a friend called in a bind and needed a drug dog team. I don’t usually take on contract work, but here I am. Or really, here we are. Me and Clover.

This may sound weird to people outside our world, but my heart absolutely bursts when I get to step back and just watch her work. Not a planted hide from me, not a staged scenario from someone else, just Clover doing what she was trained to do. And when she finds something real… there’s almost no way to describe that feeling.

It’s pride. It’s trust. It’s awe. It’s that quiet moment where you realize your dog is out there solving problems because you built that foundation together.

And that’s the exact feeling—the trust, the confidence, the belief I want to build in every handler I instruct. Because once you’ve felt it, you understand what a true K9 team really is.

Thank you, Tenino Middle School, for the call‑back to talk drug prevention and deterrence. Always a good time — even if we all know the real headliner was K9 Clover. I’m just the lady holding the leash.

At the K9 Kuva Memorial Foundation, our heart is with the kids and our mission is supporting the community through education and real conversations. If your group — young or grown — wants a visit, let us know. We’ll bring the message… and K9 Clover will bring the star power.
