Breaking News: Washington Huskies Men’s baseball coach Eddie Smith is conducting a baseball clinic in Longview, Washington to benefit families affected by the tragic Nippon accident.

Smith previously served as coach for the Lower Columbia Red Devils (LCC).

In a statement on Twitter, Smith said, “Longview was home for 5 years. The people and the grit of the region have stayed in my soul ever since. Hoping the Cowlitz baseball community can enjoy a clinic with proceeds benefiting kids who lost their fathers in last week’s tragedy.”

🪵✨ Out with the old, in with the new! ✨🪵

Our bleachers just got a much-needed upgrade, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you! Over the past two days, our amazing Onalaska Boys Youth Baseball crew rolled up their sleeves and got to work removing the old, worn-out boards, cleaning out built up moss and debris, installing brand new lumber, and finishing it off with a fresh coat of paint. 💪⚾

The old boards had definitely seen better days! Some were split, broken, and even starting to rot. That created potential risks like splinters, cuts, or worse. The Onalaska Boys Youth Baseball cares deeply about not only the safety of our players, but our fans too and this upgrade helps ensure everyone can enjoy the game comfortably and safely.

A huge thank you to Sierra Pacific Industries for their generous lumber donation that made this project possible. We truly appreciate your continued support of our program and community!

Next time you’re out at the fields, take a seat and enjoy the view—we’ve got you covered!
