Small businesses are the heart of our communities.

Now more than ever, it’s important to support the local businesses that make our communities unique. They’re the coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, farms, and small shops that create jobs, give back, sponsor local events, and help our communities thrive.

That’s why I’m starting a new series highlighting local businesses throughout the La Crosse area, including Trempealeau, West Salem, Sparta, and the Driftless Region. I want to share hidden gems, local favorites, and your recommendations to inspire others to shop local and explore somewhere new.

Come spend a Saturday morning with me!

One of my favorite ways to stay is getting outside and moving! We kicked off the morning in Trempealeau at the Catfish Days 10K before making a stop at one of my favorite local spots, The Down-Leau. Of course, I couldn’t leave without grabbing a coffee and a few of Wilma’s Cakes LLC delicious baked treats!

After the race, we headed back to Onalaska to volunteer at Clearwater Farm’s Open Barn. This month’s event also included a hygiene and diaper drive to support the La Crosse County foster care families.

Did you know young women who live, work, or attend school in La Crosse or Trempealeau counties are eligible to compete for the titles of Miss Onalaska or Miss Onalaska’s Teen?

Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

Today we celebrate 250 years of our nation’s history and the freedoms we are so fortunate to enjoy. As we gather with family, friends, and our communities, we are reminded that our country has been shaped by those who choose to serve, give back, and make a difference.

As someone who believes in the power of community, today is a reminder that even the smallest acts of service can create a lasting impact.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. Here’s to honoring our past, celebrating today, and inspiring the next generation to continue making a difference.

Miss Wisconsin Week may be over, but my Bubbl’r obsession definitely isn’t!

Before becoming involved with the Miss America Organization, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I worried the girls would be rude but I couldn’t have been more wrong.

The Four Points to the Crown are Style, Service, Scholarship, and Success. While those are the foundation of this organization, with sisterhood holding everything together.

This organization has given me friendships that will last a lifetime. It has introduced me to women who celebrate each other’s successes, encourage one another through every season, and become some of your biggest supporters.

One of the greatest gifts this organization gave me was Emma.

Growing up, I always wanted a little sister. I never imagined that dream would come true through the Miss America Organization, but somehow it did. Over the past 7 months, Emma has become so much more than my Teen. She has become family, and I know we’ll be cheering each other on long after our year of service is over.

The crowns, titles, scholarships, and competitions are all incredible, but they aren’t what I’ll remember most. I’ll remember the friendships, the laughter, the people who became family, and the sisterhood that came into my life when I least expected it.

The crown is temporary, but the sisterhood lasts forever. And for that, I will always be grateful. ❤️

Thank you to Emplify Health by Gundersen for giving us a tour of the medical helicopters during West Salem’s Emergency Services Day.

Emergency Services Day is such a fun event for children and families because it gives little ones the opportunity to meet the superheroes in our communities who respond during emergencies. Through hands-on experiences, children can explore emergency vehicles, meet first responders, and learn what to expect if they ever need to call for help.

The event also gave community members the chance to learn more about potential careers in emergency services and healthcare.

Medical helicopters are a vital link in the emergency medical system. Acting as “flying ICUs,” they bring advanced, life-saving care directly to accident scenes and rural areas, dramatically reducing transport times for patients experiencing a stroke, heart attack, or severe trauma when every minute matters.

As a heart and brain health advocate, events like this are exactly why I share my CSI. Education empowers our communities to recognize emergencies and confidently take action when seconds count.

Stay tuned for more content from our weekend, but here are a few photos from the first part of our day!

This weekend, we are celebrating Onalaska’s 175th Anniversary! This morning, we kicked off the festivities at the American Legion Post 336 in Onalaska.

Afterward, Emma and I headed to West Salem for Emergency Services Day, where we had the opportunity to meet some of the incredible first responders and emergency personnel who work every day to keep our communities safe.

Thank you to all of the men and women who dedicate their lives to serving and protecting others. Your commitment does not go unnoticed.

The glitz and glam of pageantry is fun, but what often is not shown are all of the people behind the scenes who help us get to the stage.

My journey in this organization and my journey to Miss Wisconsin would not have happened without the incredible support system behind me. It truly takes a village!

To my two besties who flew to New Berlin to watch me compete, thank you for always supporting my crazy side quests. To all of my friends and family, near and far, thank you for your endless love, encouragement, and belief in me.

To my mom, thank you for believing in me and driving over five hours by yourself just to be there. To the rest of my family who could not be there in person, thank you for your endless love and support. I love you all so much.

To my beautiful teen, Emma, you inspire me every single day. I truly do not think I could have survived state week without you. No matter where I was, I knew you would be there cheering me on in a fabulous outfit. I am also forever grateful to the Langrehr and Arentz families for welcoming me in as one of your own this year. Your support has meant more than you know.

To Maddie and Sue, thank you for believing in me and supporting me throughout my entire Miss America journey. What started as a simple conversation has turned into a friendship that I would not trade for the world.

To my Oktoberfest family, especially Reegan, Nick, Sally, and so many others, thank you for believing in me and supporting me every step of the way.

To Amber and Mandi, thank you for everything you do for this organization and for us delegates. I know countless hours go into making this program what it is.

Lastly, thank you to the Miss Wisconsin Board for everything you do to make this program so special. Thank you, Traci, Kaytlyn, Meghan, Mark, Chelsea, Kate, and Stephanie, for all of the time, energy, and heart you poured into making this past week possible. Thank you for giving me an experience of a lifetime and memories that I will cherish forever.

It truly takes a village, and I am so grateful for mine. Thank you all for helping me live out this dream.

As one chapter ends, another begins.

Willow, thank you for an incredible year as Miss Wisconsin.

Over the past year, you have opened doors for people who never thought opportunities like this were possible. You have given hope to those who felt unseen and reminded so many individuals that they belong.

The job of Miss Wisconsin is about so much more than wearing a crown. It is about service, leadership, and making a lasting impact, and you have done exactly that. Thank you for leading with grace, creating space for others, and showing all of us the power of representation. Wisconsin is better because of your year of service, and I cannot wait to see what is next for you.

And to our new Miss Wisconsin, Jordenne, congratulations! From the moment we first met in 2023, I was inspired by your kindness, authenticity, and genuine heart. Over the past few years, I have loved getting to know you and your family, and I truly cannot think of anyone more deserving of this opportunity.

Coming into Miss Wisconsin Week, I felt a sense of peace knowing you would be there as a mentor, friend, and sister queen. You embody everything I think of when I picture a Miss America.

As you begin this incredible year, please know I am always just a text away. Whether it is for an appearance, a NOM sips & eats date, hot yoga, or simply to decompress, I am here for you.

As Miss Wisconsin Week officially comes to a close, I find myself sitting in a place of reflection, gratitude, and honor.

This week would not have happened if I did not have a story to share.

My journey with the Miss America Opportunity started unexpectedly. What began as a way to process my own grief turned into a platform that gave me the confidence to step up, speak out, and advocate for a cause that has forever changed my life and impacted so many others.

My family’s story is not rare. There are thousands of families who have experienced the loss of a loved one due to heart or brain disease, and that is my why. My story is what drives me forward because I do not want another family to lose someone they love to something that may have been prevented.

It is the stories of others that continue to inspire me. The stories of loss, second chances, survival, resilience, and even survivor’s guilt. Every person deserves a space to be seen, heard, and supported when it comes to the impact of brain and heart disease.

Today is Father’s Day, and every year I am reminded that although my father is no longer here, there have been so many people who have stepped up to be there in his honor.

So today, I want to celebrate and thank those who have filled pieces of that role in my life.

To my pageant papas, thank you for believing in me, encouraging me, and cheering me on every step of the way. Your support has meant more than you know, and I truly cherish our friendships and all of the memories we have made together.

And to Frank, thank you for stepping up and being there for moments that I know my dad would have been there for if he could. While no one could ever replace my father, your kindness, guidance, and support have meant the world to me.

Dad, everything I do is because of you. Your story continues to live on through my advocacy, and I hope I have made you proud.

Thank you, Miss America, for giving me the opportunity to turn grief into purpose and purpose into impact. ♥️
