Last week, I was honored to be a part of the La Crosse County Mental Health Walk. Last year I received The Shining Star Award at this event and they asked me to give a brief overview of what happened with our project in the past year. As I collected my thoughts it became clear to me why I'm always so tired.... so many amazing things are always happening with our project!!!

The second and third pictures of this reel show people raising their hand to signify that su***de has touched their life in some way. I include this in all my presentations as a way to demonstrate that it's okay to talk about this. 95% of people raise their hands every time. Certainly sad, and makes the point that we need to talk about it!

La Crosse's Mayor spoke, the United Way spoke, everyone went on a 1-mile walk and then there was a resource fair. I met so many incredible people and heard amazing stories all day long.

After this event was done I had two meetings; one with my Wisconsin Assemblyman, Steve Doyle, and the other with Greg Wavrunek, who is our US Senator Tammy Baldwin's aide. I'll never stop being surprised when people like this take meetings with me. It's an honor to have their continued support of our project.
