Levi and his family live here in Omro. Levi is a super special kid who has endured too much in his short life. This family now finds themselves in another fight for their son's life and are in need of our community to rally around them.

Please give if you led and/or send up a prayer for him and his family. Monetary donations will help Levi's parents to be able to focus solely on his care and not have to worry about being off of work for two months or more.

Watch our page this week as we announce the first workshop in our fall series, "Equipped" inspired by Omro neighbors who have reached out and asked for help acquiring knowledge in specific areas. We can't wait to connect Omro neighbors with training, knowledge, and experience in specific areas with those looking for guidance.

I took zero pictures and forgot to do my yearly video but, the Back to School Store went so well today! We helped 90 kids go back to school with all the materials they need plus some new clothes and full bellies. Clean up took all of 20 minutes! I will put out a more detailed thank you post out of our volunteers and sponsors later this week. Now it's time to take inventory of what we have left and store it away for next year!

With the help of our wonderful volunteers, we were set up in about an hour this morning! That has to be a record! Thanks to all who helped and thanks to the Omro Omro Bowhunters for allowing us to use their building!

You have the ability to help someone better their life by sharing your gifts, talents, and knowledge. We have a number of people in our community reaching, looking for help. We would like to find teams or individuals who are able to help in specific areas of need who will put on presentations or workshops for those looking for help.

Here are the areas people in our community are seeking help in:

-College 101- Finding the right college, financial aid, scholarships, and anything else worth knowing when preparing for post high school education.

-Basic Budgeting and long term financial planning.

-Free/cheap will preparation

-Resume writing/job search/acquiring job skills

-Back Taxes

One of the greatest things about doing the Back to School Store is when people use the program for one or more years then they get on their feet financially and contact us saying they'd now like to help others as they were helped when they needed a hand.

In years past, we've had former attendees of the program donate money, volunteer at the program, and donate supplies. In the past two weeks we've received three emails from past beneficiaries of the program asking how they can donate and another asked how they can volunteer.

This is what Neighbor to Neighbor is about- Helping others out when they stumble, using individual strengths and knowledge to better others in our community and embracing that everyone has something to contribute.
