Dear Community,

Okanogan County is a wonderful place to live, with beautiful lakes and mountains, easy access to recreational activities, a strong sense of community and a safe environment for our families.

But Okanogan County is a large rural area that carries its own set of problems. Foremost being approximately 25% of the population lives below poverty level and rely on neighbors and community services and programs to help pay their expenses, feed their families and navigate legal issues.

The Okanogan County Dispute Resolution Center (DRC) is one such community program and we need your help.

The DRC is looking for community minded people interested in becoming trained volunteer mediators. Becoming a mediator requires a 40 hour Basic Mediation Training course and there is potential scholarship funds available to assist with the cost of training.

The DRC also needs volunteer board members. The Board oversees the operation of our non profit agency, meets once a month and only requires a 2-3 hour commitment.

If you are interested in supporting your community by being a part of the DRC, please call 509-826-1776 to learn more about the services we provide and for more information on becoming a mediator or board member.

We hope to hear from you.

Sincerely,

The Board of the Okanogan County DRC
