To honor this milestone, we’re launching 25 Stories for 25 Years — a yearlong series highlighting the people and partnerships that have shaped inCOMMON across the years. Some stories will look back on earlier chapters, while others will reflect the work, leadership, and connection growing today.

Each story represents what has always guided this work: belief, belonging, neighborhood leadership, and creativity.

As we celebrate how far we’ve come together, we also remain committed to the work still before us: partnering with neighbors in transforming their neighborhoods by strengthening households, connecting neighbors, and growing leaders.

A little paint can make a big difference. 💛

Last Friday, volunteers from WoodmenLife joined us at the Hanscom Apartments, and together they helped brighten up the basement in a big way. One tenant shared that he hadn’t realized how much the space needed it until seeing how clean and bright it looks now. That’s the kind of impact we love to see.

Recently, we hosted a Naturalization Workshop focused on helping neighbors take important steps toward citizenship.

These workshops matter because access to clear information, trusted support, and community resources can make a huge difference in what can otherwise feel like an overwhelming process.

At inCOMMON, we believe opportunity starts with access and that includes helping people feel supported as they build their future.

We’re proud to create space for that work.

Creativity, conversation, and a lot of really great dream catchers ✨

Thank you to Elroy for hosting a fun craft night at Walnut Hill! Neighbors came together to make dream catchers, spend time with one another, and leave with something beautiful they created themselves.

Moments like these remind us that community is built in the small things: shared tables, laughter, and learning something new together.

And honestly… these turned out pretty amazing.

April is Volunteer Month, and we couldn’t let it end without saying thank you 💙

To every person who has shown up, painted walls, served meals, helped in classes, supported neighbors, and given your time to make our community stronger—we see you, and we are grateful.

At inCOMMON, real change happens because people choose to show up for each other. Volunteers help create brighter spaces, stronger relationships, and more opportunity for families across our neighborhoods.

Fresh paint. Helping hands. Real impact. 💙

Today’s Do Good Days volunteer project at Hanscom Apartments was a reminder that small acts create big change. From freshening up shared spaces to creating a brighter, more welcoming place for neighbors to call home, every brushstroke mattered.

A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who showed up ready to work—and a special thank you to for being such a strong community partner. These spaces, and the dignity they help create, are made possible because of people who choose to show up for their community.

This is what stronger neighborhoods look like.
