Heath Mello, President & CEO of the Greater Omaha Chamber, released the following statement regarding the Omaha City Council’s approval of Mayor John Ewing Jr.’s 2027 budget:

“Mayor Ewing’s 2027 budget demonstrates how Omaha can continue investing in the priorities that strengthen our community while maintaining fiscal discipline. The public-private partnership to invest in our parks will enhance quality of life across the city, while continued support for police and fire moves us closer to our shared goal of making Omaha the safest city of our size in America. Doing all of this while keeping the property tax levy unchanged is a strong approach that supports Omaha’s continued growth and competitiveness.”
