🎉 Congratulations on a lifetime of service and dedication! 🎉

Today at our Annual Kroc Conference our General Manager Jonathan Kuebler was awarded the Beacon of Hope award! This is an award of distinction, given by the Salvation Army to those who lead the way in carrying out our mission in Christ, setting an example for us all with perseverance and heart. As our General Manager, Jonathan exemplifies patience and understanding and what it means to lead with love.

Congratulations on this special occasion! We are all so grateful and blessed.

Kinder Prep happens in our KidZone Mondays @ 11AM and both KidZone and Kinder Prep are free to members.

We're excited to welcome our new Art and Pottery Instructors!

Meet Cathi Shanahan (left)

"I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, one of seven children. I have two sons and a grandson. Over 35 years in the medical field, hospitals, physician's clinics, and the American Red Cross, preforming phlebotomy and apheresis procedures. I took a break from medicine to pursue interior painting, where I preformed custom murals and faux finishes for private homeowners. I love landscaping and gardening. Outside is my happy place year-round. The arts and repurposing just about anything I come across is where I feel inspired and content. I've also enjoyed raising fainting goats, chickens, ducks, and dogs. I'd rather be out fishing, boating, or just walking the fields during a hunt. I'm currently living in an old farmhouse in the middle of many crops in Pacific Junction, Iowa."

"I graduated from Bellevue University with a BFA. I have been a local artist in Omaha. I have 2 sons; I am thrilled to have this position and love teaching people! I spend my time with my dogs and at the gym and cooking."

🎨 Fresh from our Open Art Studio! 🖌️

We got to catch up today with some of our artists to talk about different painting techniques.
See here three different techniques some of which you may be unfamiliar with.
First, we have a watercolor landscape and floral watercolor as well as a sketched scene with included palette, then a Chinese ink block and brushes which create strong outlines and calligraphic scenes, and finally a technique that involves bunching cling film onto watercolor paper and letting it set before removing and finishing the scene.

Studio time is for getting inspired and working in an environment where extra supplies and equipment are on hand and other artists are working and having fun.

Open Art Studio is Fridays, 10-12PM.
