We're excited to announce that Women in Technology of the Heartland is honored to have received the Tech Champion Award at the AIM Institute's annual Tech Awards Ceremony. It was held on Thursday, November 14, at the Peter Fink Muscle Car Museum and had 700 attendees!
This wouldn't have happened without the support of all of our members, sponsors and the many dedicated women and men that have served on our Planning Committee through the years.
Our founding members wanted to create an organization that would bring women in tech together. We envisioned an organization run not by a traditional system of hierarchy but by every member who wanted to take part. We wanted an organization where women and men could discuss challenges, find encouragement through educational and networking opportunities, and help each other succeed.
Today, WiTH is a group of more than 2,400 members. Over the past 12 years, we have presented more than 115 events that bring an average of 75 people together on a nearly monthly basis. Members have gained insights and made connections which have advanced their careers.
You, our members, have always been very active in the community. WiTH has raised funds for more than a dozen charitable organizations. We have provided speakers for other groups, helped sponsor and volunteer at many tech events and helped Girl Scouts attain their technology badge!
This award means so much to each of us. It is more than recognition of our past efforts. By honoring how far we have come, and how much we have grown individually and together, it also signifies how far we can go from here.
As long as we go there . . . WiTH each other.
