Just one week ago, a few adventurous Chrome Divas from Omaha embarked on an exhilarating 1,200-mile journey, proving that unforgettable memories are made when women riders defy the elements - extreme rains, wild crosswinds, and some actual sun - just to keep things interesting.
We joined forces with a sisterhood of women riders from 43 states and four Canadian provinces for an extraordinary destination celebration in Rockford, Illinois. Some of us were seasoned riders, while others were new to the world of motorcycles, still mastering the art of navigating their bikes' abilities. Yet, as we made our way to the destination and eventually lined up, experience levels became irrelevant – we were united by an unbreakable bond of passion for motorcycles and the thrill and freedom of the open road.
While in the Rockford area, we ventured through some beautiful back roads and hit up some local biker hotspots. But the moment of truth arrived during the Get Your Groove On (GYGO2026) event held June 11–13, 2026, at Hard Rock Casino Rockford, when 1,433 women riders, a 30-mile parade, and an honest-to-goodness interstate shutdown brought about the outcome of us setting TWO world records…history made.
⭐️ Most Female Riders Simultaneously Riding: 1,433 women rode together in one continuous pack.
⭐️ Largest Gathering of Female Motorcyclists: 1,433 riders assembled.
🙌🏻 A huge thank you to Ellie Rains and the Midwest Women Riders crew for orchestrating this unforgettable experience. In addition to the record-breaking ride, Midwest Women Riders raised $11,400 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation in support of breast cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient support programs.
The records were certainly the overall highlight, but the true intimate connections happened at fuel stops, in parking lots, and over chance encounters, where laughs and lifelong friendships were enhanced and forged. Years from now, the people – the incredible women who rode with us, cheered us on, and reminded us of the power of community – will stay in our heads and hearts. The records may eventually fade, but the spirit of adventure, camaraderie, and joy will endure…what a ride.✌🏼
