A shout out to Sandy Olsen, our Treasurer seen on your left. She traveled to the annual State ANAC Conference held this year in Ogallala, hauling and hanging the OAI artwork…and will be taking down, packing up and bringing back to Omaha. There are 293 pieces entered in the art show. The Association of Nebraska Art Clubs is unique in that it is the only club in the United States that supports all the art clubs in the state:
ANAC is made up of approximately 40 independent art clubs distributed throughout the state. Thank you, Sandy Olsen… and good luck to the artists in OAI who entered their paintings!

Cardboard Art is our exciting lesson!!!

Instructor George Garrett III who is an OAI member and the Executive Director of Cali Commons. George will be helping us make a new creation using Repurposed Cardboard. He says that he creates fine art using repurposed cardboard, transforming overlooked materials into layered works that carry meaning, memory, and story. His approach is rooted in the idea of "Guardian as Witness" - the artwork becomes more than an object; it stands as evidence of transformation, holding and protecting what might otherwise be discarded or forgotten. Through this process, he helps artists see that creativity is not only about making something new, but also about recognizing the hidden value already present in the materials around us.
——Supplies to bring:
glue gun and at least 10 glue sticks; acrylic paints, all colors, and brushes; Mod Podge, enough to share; rags; (green and yellow) dish scrubbing pads; foam paper plates to use as a palette; and please bring an old picture frame as well.
