Congratulations to the 2026 winner of the Thomas Hunter Memorial Scholarship and the Patricia L. Buford Scholarship, Steven Dickerson!

"The advice I always give to OPS students is to build a bridge rather than finding a shore. What I mean by this is that high school can feel like a raging river, and it is easy to stay on the shore for all 4 years and graduate. But it will not get you farther than that. Instead, face the waters and build bridges between the shores. Find people to talk to who you’ve never met, go to events that stretch outside of your comfort zone, join clubs that sound even slightly interesting to you. Create a multi-dimensional life for yourself, your future self will thank you!"

Planning for your future education starts today! Check out all the available scholarships and mark your calendars for the opening of the scholarship portal on November 2nd.

Congratulations to the winner of the 2026 OPSF Distinguished Leaders scholarship, the Teri Kinkead Memorial Scholarship, and the Yano Jones Scholarship, Naw Ea Re Sa!

"As a refugee and a first-generation college student, receiving this scholarship is a big deal and a big blessing for me. Words can’t explain how grateful I am and the impact this scholarship will have on my education and my future. Being able to attend college is an opportunity that I do not take for granted. This scholarship will help reduce some of the financial burden of college and allow me to focus more on my education as I work toward becoming a registered nurse. It also motivates me to continue doing my best in everything I do, knowing that there are people who believe in me and are supporting my journey. I want to make the most of this opportunity and show that their support was worth believing in. This scholarship will not only help make my education possible, but it will also give me the opportunity to give back to my family and community and, most importantly, honor the sacrifices my parents have made for me."
