As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, let’s take a moment to appreciate the spirit that makes Leawood West special — connection, respect, and community pride. Whether hosting a BBQ, watching fireworks, or relaxing with family, we wish you a joyful and safe holiday.

🔥 Safety Reminders for a Great Holiday
✅ Keep fireworks away from homes, people, and dry grass. 🏡
✅ Never light fireworks in your hand 🫳
✅ Don't forget about your pets 🐶
✅ Clean up all debris to keep our streets clean and safe 🧹
✅ Be mindful of late-night noise, fireworks after 11 PM can be disruptive and are against city ordinance 😴

Let’s celebrate safely and respectfully, for each other and our neighborhood.

🎆 Celebrate the 4th of July with Boys Town!

Join us Friday, July 4 at 10 p.m. for our Annual Fireworks Show, a beloved tradition open to the public! Invite your family and friends for a night under the stars.

📍 Location: Boys Town Campus
📅 Rain date: Saturday, July 5 at 10 p.m.

Please note:
🏈 The Football Field is reserved for Boys Town Youth only.
🚗 Parking is available, but limited in some areas. Arrive early to secure a spot!
🚫 No alcohol or personal fireworks allowed on campus.

🚨 Fox Sighting Alert – Please Be Cautious! 🦊

Several residents have recently reported fox sightings in our neighborhood, particularly during early morning and evening hours. While foxes are generally not aggressive toward humans, they can pose a risk to small pets and may become bolder if food is accessible.

Please keep in mind the following precautions:
• Do not leave pet food or trash outside. This attracts foxes and other wildlife.
• Supervise small pets when outdoors, especially at dawn or dusk.
• Secure your garbage bins and compost.
• Avoid feeding any wildlife, which can make them lose fear of humans.
• Report unusual behavior (aggression, limping, or signs of illness) to animal control, as it could indicate injury or rabies.
