Miss Omaha/Miss Douglas County Scholarship Organization We are a non-profit 501c3 Local Preliminary competition for the Miss America Organization Welcome to the Miss Omaha/Douglas County page!

We are a group who believes in promoting exceptional young woman and providing an outlet for them to showcase extraordinary talent and exceptional public speaking, with a little touch of sparkle. Our titleholders volunteer in the Omaha metro area and across the state of Nebraska, promoting issues important to them an inspiring people everywhere to become the best version of themselves. The young w

omen who have competed in our pageant have gone on to become successful doctors, businesswomen, world champions and award-winning journalists. (Just to to name a few!)

Women ages 17-24 are eligible to compete for Miss Omaha and Miss Douglas County. Teenagers 13-17 (and not yet seniors in high school) are welcome to compete in our associated Miss Omaha's Outstanding Teen pageant. We also have a program involving girls, the Little Sisters program, inviting future Miss Omaha's to es**rt our contestants during the pageant and participate in a dance number. Continuing the celebration of our Black Titleholders during Black History Month - introducing:

Jessica White - Miss Omaha 2013. Jessica was in the Top Ten at Miss Nebraska.

She is living in Orange County, CA. Just recently married, she and her husband, plus their two fur babies, have a house in Laguna Hills. Jessica works as a Human Resources Director at a large nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide mental health services, training, and awareness to Orange County. Focusing on youth mental health, ages 7-21. She volunteers with her church as a small group leader and have a little dance group there as well.

Jessica is also still involved with the distinguished young women and Nebraska's distinguished young woman program as co-chair and choreographer.

Celebrating our next black titleholder during Black History Month - here is:

Samantha Washington - Miss Omaha’s Teen 2013. Samantha was selected Miss Nebraska’s Teen and competed at the Miss America’s Teen competition.

A classically trained vocalist and a seasoned performer and leader whose background spans pageantry, professional athletics, and luxury hospitality. A former character performer with Walt Disney World and Miami Dolphins Cheerleader, she has performed at NFL games and internationally recognized events, including Formula 1 races, and was honored as Cheer Veteran of the Year (2022–2023).

Professionally, Samantha works in luxury hospitality specializing in VIP and celebrity relations while also leading her own interview coaching program, Sam’s Sideline Prep, where she prepares aspiring NFL and NBA cheerleaders for elite auditions. Adopted at a young age and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, she is a proud biracial woman whose platform centers on youth empowerment, adoption advocacy, and representation — encouraging young people to embrace their story with confidence and purpose.

Samantha is currently Miss Nebraska USA. Her pageant journey includes titles in both the Miss USA and Miss America systems, reflecting her versatility, discipline, and competitive excellence.

Continuing to celebrate our Black titleholders during black history month, we introduce you to:

👑 Miss Omaha 2017 Wellesley Michael. Wellesley was selected first runner-up to Miss Nebraska.

In 2021, Wellesley moved to Washington D.C. to pursue a career in politics. She has worked in communications in the U.S. House of Representatives for the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology and the House Democratic Caucus. Wellesley also worked in the White House as Vice President Kamala D. Harris’ Deputy Digital Director. She is currently the first-ever Digital Partnerships Manager for Senate Democrats.

Wellesley is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In her free time, she enjoys theatre and spending time with her puppy Petunia.

This Black History Month, we celebrate the Black titleholders who have worn the Miss Omaha crown and continue to shine as leaders in our community. Their achievements, service, and strength inspire us every day. We will start with our most recent titleholder and work our way back:

👑 Daisy Sudderth - Miss Omaha’s Teen 2019

Daisy was runner-up at the Miss Nebraska’s Teen competition.
She is finishing her degree at the University of Houston while staying active in community impact work across Houston. She has been working with Young Invincibles on youth civic engagement and policy education and serves as a Texas Team Lead with Cornerstone, supporting outreach and leadership development. She is also Communications Director for a Houston political campaign this election cycle.

Daisy volunteers regularly with SHAPE Community Center, helping serve meals to elders and educating community members about policy changes that affect their lives. Alongside that, she’s been a Co-Director for a Texas-based pageant organization and hosts a radio show called Power, Pumps, and Policy, where she talks about current events, culture, and public policy.
