In 2026, more than 1,050 Nebraskans were impacted by major layoffs and plant closures. When jobs disappear, families don't just lose income. They begin making difficult choices.
Monthly incomes are prioritized for rent, groceries and utilities. Furniture and household items are no longer affordable. Learn more about how we ensure our neighbors have the items they need to make their house a home: thefurnitureproject.org/about-us

In July, three groups of volunteers from Serve Boldly showed up with a heart ♥️ for service. Because of them, empty rooms became places for rest, meals and new beginnings.
They cleaned and sorted household items, made many starter kitchen packs and dish sets, prepared orders for delivery, and built beds that are already being slept on. We’re deeply grateful for their hard work and commitment to filling homes with hope.
If their service inspires you, consider volunteering as a group this fall: www.thefurnitureproject.org/volunteer

There are many reason we’re thankful for City Councilman Danny Begley. His lifelong advocacy for working people, his devotion to this community and his support for The Furniture Project included. His recent donation has allowed us, in collaboration with the City of Omaha, to purchase hundreds of bed platforms. These will soon be in the homes of our neighbors, getting people off of the floor and provided restful nights sleep for families.

Thank you Danny.

Big hearts change the world! 💙✨ The amazing students in Ms. Stromberg’s class at St. Pius X / St. Leo School made a great contribution that warmed our hearts! To wrap up their school year in May, these incredible students crafted and dropped off handmade blankets for our clients. Seeing the next generation lead with such sincere empathy is truly inspiring. 🌟

What an incredible summer! In late May and early June, we wrapped up a massive furniture drive thanks to the amazing support of our local colleges.
A huge thank you to the students and staff at:
Hastings College 🎓
Creighton University 🎓
College of Saint Mary 🎓

Because of their generosity, 12 truckloads of furniture were collected and redistributed to families in need.
A special thanks to Firefighters on the Move 🚒 ! They stepped up and lent us their truck to make these massive pickups possible.
Thank you to everyone who pitched in to make a real difference! 🙌
