This year’s spring trade camp with Omaha Public Schools was a huge success! Thank you to our union partners International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 22, Plumbers Local Union #16, and MCC Fire for hosting these 16 students the last three days!

Thank you to Elkhorn Ridge Middle School for hosting our mini trade career day. Also BIG thank you to our union partners, IBEW Local 22, Plumbers Local Union #16, and IUOE Local 571 Training Fund for coming out and discussing career opportunities with these awesome 7th & 8th graders!

Please join us Sunday August 31st from 12PM to 6PM as we kick off Labor Day Weekend with Blues, Booze, & BBQ! Local Unions will be having a cook off and be judged for the best baby back ribs and chicken wings. There will be a $500 prize for first place, and judging will be from all patrons from 430pm to 5pm. There will also be beer and pop for sale and free will donation for meals. Music will be provided by the Omaha Musician's Union all afternoon.

It was a pleasure to present to area high school students at the T.O.O.L.S. Camp sponsored by the Nebraska Center for Workforce Development and Education at UA Steamfitters & Plumbers Local Union 464 hall to discuss the value that unions bring to workers collectively in terms of better wages, benefits, and conditions of employment.

Last week from May 28th-30th we facilitated another trade camp visit for over 20 Omaha Public Schools high school students! Thank you to our partners for this camp 15, UA Steamfitters & Plumbers Local Union 464, and Carpenters Training Institute for making this a memorable and engaging experience for these students!

Another succesful visit exploring career opportunities in the skilled trades! On April 23rd students from Conestoga High School made the trip to IUOE Local 571 Training Fund to visit with trainers Josh, Nick and Walt, along with a current apprentice to see what it takes to be a heavy equipment operator!
