🎒💙 What a night at Maple Street!

Tonight at Parents Night Out, we had the opportunity to send 60+ kids home with backpacks! Seeing the smiles made an already fun night even better.

A HUGE shoutout to Denesie Howard for the energy, creativity, and care she puts into making PNO such a special experience for our kids every month! 🙌

🏀 Winter Basketball registration is OPEN!

At the Y, basketball is about more than learning the game. It’s about building skills, confidence, teamwork, and friendships that go well beyond the court. 💙

Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the first time or ready to keep growing their game, there’s a place for them at the Y!

We had a great turnout for our latest Senior Lunch & Learn at the Maple Street YMCA! A big thank you to Vanessa Minor for spending time with our members and helping break down Medicare, Medicaid, long-term care planning, and some of the common misconceptions surrounding them.

We love creating opportunities where our members can ask questions, learn something new, and connect with resources that can help them navigate every stage of life. 💙

✨ Behind every great season is a team making it happen!

Our Maple Street crew has been busy sorting, organizing, and packing jerseys for our fall youth sports teams! ⚽🏈🏐

It may not be the part you see on game day, but it’s all part of creating a great experience for our kids, families, and coaches.

We can’t wait to see these jerseys out on the field and court. Here’s to a great fall season at the Y! 🙌

Mr. Cyrus has become a consistent staple at the Maple Street YMCA. You can usually catch him riding the bike, catching up with friends, and always ready to share a great Y story or a little wisdom along the way.

Members like Mr. Cyrus are what make the Y more than a place to work out. They make it a community.

We’re glad to have you with us, Mr. Cyrus!

𝐓𝐡𝐞 "𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐨𝐦" 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞

Mr. Cyrus is part of the heartbeat of the Butler-Gast YMCA—one of those members who gives this place its pulse.

A longtime member, he’s known for sharing wisdom, encouragement, and “free game”—those everyday life nuggets that make the Y feel like more than a gym.

He’s deeply relational, loves talking sports, and helps foster community just by showing up.

He’s also a former marathon runner, still proudly wearing shirts that celebrate his running days. Anyone else remember the 10th annual YMCA Midwest Masters Classic?

He continues to inspire others through his stories and consistency.

His presence reflects the Y’s role as a place where wellness, mentorship, and friendship intersect.

Until construction is complete on our Butler-Gast location, you can try catching some of Cyrus' words of wisdom at the Maple Street YMCA.

💙 Taking the Y beyond our walls!

Last week, we had the opportunity to visit Salem Baptist Church and share more about YMCA membership, insurance-based membership options, and what healthy living can look like for active older adults.

We also got to share some of the incredible success stories we’ve seen in our community this summer!

A huge thank you to Salem Baptist Church for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to connect. This is what strengthening community looks like. 🙌

🎂 175 cakes. One incredible community.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to come together and help create 175+ Birthday For All cake kits in celebration of the YMCA of Greater Omaha’s 160 years of serving our community!

It was an awesome reminder of what can happen when people come together to serve others. We’re proud to celebrate our Y, our history, and most importantly, the community we get to be part of every day. 💙

Here’s to 160 years of impact and many more to come!
