Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we’re celebrating our Dreamer Oretha and a Dream rooted in family, culture, and belonging.

Oretha’s Dream came true when she returned to attend a Winnebago Powwow alongside her family. It was an opportunity to share an experience that held deep meaning for her, surrounded by the people she loved.

Because sometimes, home is more than a place. It’s a familiar sound, a shared tradition, and the feeling of being together.

We were honored to help make that return possible. Today, we celebrate Indigenous peoples and the living cultures, traditions, and communities that connect generations.

💚 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆 | 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟬

“How are you?” can open a conversation. Taking time to hear the answer can make room for something meaningful.

For aging adults and those who care for them, grief, changes in health, and shifting roles can bring feelings that aren’t always easy to share. There is room for joy and sadness, gratitude and exhaustion - Sometimes all in the same day.

If someone opens up, you don’t need to rush to find a bright side. Try: “Thank you for telling me. Would you like me to listen, or help you think through what support might be useful?”

At Dreamweaver Foundation, we nurture hearts and spirits through music, laughter, and unforgettable experiences. Today, we also recognize the importance of listening, making space for difficult feelings, and supporting people in seeking help when they need it.

Check in on an older loved one. Check in on a caregiver. And give yourself permission to ask for support, too.

You deserve care in the difficult moments as well as the joyful ones. 💚

When someone we care about is living with a serious illness, we may hesitate to reach out because we don’t know what to say.

Will we say the wrong thing? Should we try to be encouraging? What if they want to talk about something difficult?

When someone receives a life-limiting diagnosis, conversations can become focused on symptoms, appointments, and care needs. Those conversations matter, but so do the person’s favorite songs, treasured memories, sense of humor, and hopes for tomorrow.

As we reflect on Boots & Buckets, we want to thank the two people whose vision is woven through every part of it: our founders, 𝙅𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙊𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙞 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣.

This event simply would not *𝑏𝑒* without them. It would not be this momentous community event or make the impact it does. And it would not have the style, flair, bold presence, and heart that make the night so unmistakably 𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙨 & 𝘽𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙨.

Jeanie and Omani believed in what this community could do for aging adults and their families, and they gave that belief a place to grow. Every Dream celebrated and every person who comes together in support of this mission is part of the story they started.
