Comunidad Maya Pixan Ixim Comunidad Maya Pixan Ixim (CMPI) is a Maya and Indigenous led organization founded by the Maya Community in Omaha Nebraska in 2007.

We enjoy relations with the Omaha Nation and maintain our Maya identity and nationality through our transnational work. CMPI is a Maya & Indigenous led nonprofit organization based in Omaha, NE. We maintain a transnational Indigenous identity and relationships within Maya Territories & with Maya Nations. We approach our work with a Maya cosmovision and consciousness. CMPI Programs include: The May

a Health initiative, the Maya Human Rights Program, the Maya Regeneration Project, the Maya Education Initiative, & the Maya Arts & Culture Program. CMPI collaborates with organizations and educational institutions to promote our sovereignty, self-determination, human rights, spiritual enrichment, cultural awareness, ongoing education, civic engagement, and improved access to health care and legal services for Maya peoples in Nebraska and Maya Territories. CMPI improves the lives of Maya people and all of our global family through our programs, services, contributions, and shared knowledge.

Casey Camp-Horinek is a Traditionalist, Wisdom Keeper, Speaker, Author, Actor and Drumkeeper of the Ponca PaThaTa Women’s Scalp Dance Society.

She is Chairwoman of the Indigenous Council of the Global Alliance of the Rights of Nature ans has appeared in “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “Reservation Dogs.”
