Happy World Environment Day! 🌱

One way to help improve our environment is to cut back on single-use plastics.

Single-use plastics are among the biggest contributors to global pollution, with 400 million tons produced every year. Making small changes every day here in Omaha can make a big difference in our world. Try these easy swaps:

- Bring your own reusable bags instead of using plastic ones.
- Buy products in bulk or with less packaging.
- Carry a refillable water bottle or coffee mug.
- Switch to plastic-free alternatives such as bar soaps, glass food containers, or bamboo storage boxes.

May 29th is National 'Learn About Composting' Day! Why learn about composting?

💚 It’s a great way to create natural fertilizer, improve soil health, and reduce methane gas emissions from landfills - and it’s free!

🪱 Composting doesn’t have to be complicated. Backyard piles, mulch mowing, compost tumblers, or even worms make composting accessible.

Here are some great resources to start learning today!

We are excited to add these new trees to the Spring Lake tree canopy for all in our community to enjoy!
