Release, Inc.

Release, Inc. Safe. Together. Healthy. Free. Release began in 1994 with two guys, a Bible, and a boom box. We serve over 350 kids per week through our various programs.

They used Christian rap music and God’s word to reach the youth at the Douglas County Youth Center. Early on the ministry became aware of the need for mentoring, Bible studies and aftercare that would go beyond the walls of the DCYC. Mentoring was formally added in 2001, and the overall ministry continued to grow every year. Release engages with at-risk youth and their families throughout Douglas

and Sarpy counties. MENTORING Release engages youth through professional chaplaincy and various volunteer mentoring opportunities in the community. FOSTER CARE Release provides initial training and ongoing support to foster families to provide temporary, loving homes when children cannot remain in their family homes. COMMUNITY-BASED INITIATIVES Release goes into the homes of families to help keep them together, or reunite them when they have been separated. MENTAL HEALTH Release provides therapy services to individuals and families in the community.

Imagine a place where every child feels safe, known, and understood. 🫶 That’s the vision behind Release’s new Childcare Center! By integrating trauma-informed care, quality early education, and mental health support, we’re creating a space where children can heal, grow, and thrive.

🎥 Enjoy this short video from our therapists, Rachel & Jillian, to learn why this work matters. See how together we can help build brighter futures for children and families in our community.

Party with a Purpose = Birthday Blessings for the Care Closet!! 🎁🎉

A big splash of thanks goes out to Brinley, Sophia, and Violet! These awesome girls celebrated their birthdays with a swim party, inviting their entire 5th grade class to bring donations for the Release Care Closet instead of receiving birthday gifts.

The result? An incredible collection of items for teens that will help make a difference for so many young people!

We are beyond grateful for your generosity, leadership, and caring hearts. Thank you for showing us that birthdays can be about giving as well as celebrating! Way to go, girls! 🥳

📚Back-to-School Bash at Sarpy County Juvenile Justice Center was a blast!🎒

A huge thank you to Tami Steensma & the JJC for allowing Release to be part of your annual Back-to-School Bash! We are grateful for our continued partnership and especially thankful for Chaplain Chris, who serves youth at the JJC and helps strengthen the connection between our organizations each day.

This community event was an incredible day of connecting with so many youth and their families as they prepared for the start of a new school year. Events like these remind us of the importance of community, encouragement, and ensuring every young person has the support they need to succeed. As students head back to the classroom, we wish them a year filled with growth, learning, and new opportunities! 🙏

📣 Only 9% left to reach our Goal!

We invite you to help us bring this important project across the finish line. 🏁

Chilcare Center Update:
Release is developing a Trauma-Informed Childcare Center for young children impacted by foster care, trauma, family separation, and instability. The center is intended to provide a safe and supportive environment with caring adults, predictable routines, and resources that help children learn, heal, and grow

Campaign Progress:
Our total campaign goal is $2,297,300. Thanks to generous lead gifts and early commitments, Release has secured $2,088,095.94, leaving only $209,204.06 remaining to complete the launch!!

These final funds will help complete the build-out, therapeutic spaces, equipment, furnishings, classroom materials, and start-up needs for the center.

If you have not yet made a gift or pledge, would you consider joining us now? A commitment can begin at $10 a month over the 3 years, or a one time donation! Every gift helps move the project forward.
