Omaha Parks Foundation The mission of Omaha Parks Foundation is to improve, promote, preserve, protect & support our parks.

The Omaha Parks Foundation aims to provide destinations – some exciting, some peaceful - that encourage wellness and a healthy lifestyle, lifting the spirits of all Omahans. We strive to beautify the city, making it vibrant and attractive to potential residents and companies looking to relocate. Our role is to improve facilities and expand programming to establish Omaha’s parks as a model for the

rest of the country. By encouraging philanthropic support and investment in a valued community resource, the Omaha Parks Foundation will facilitate the future of the city’s parks system, offering citizens the opportunity to leave a legacy for generations to come.

Meet Molly! We are thrilled to introduce our new summer marketing intern. 💚

Molly graduated in May from Creighton University’s school, with a degree in Journalism. She is passionate about storytelling through visual media, and has her own freelance photography business .withacamera !

Molly’s favorite park is Memorial Park. She enjoys walking the paths, catching up on the benches with friends, and has captured several photoshoots there! 🌳

Exciting changes are happening at Elmwood Park! 🌳 The Enfield’s crew is removing dead trees along Jones Street this week. Soon new trees will be planted in their place to improve the tree canopy! This project is funded thanks to a generous gift from a local park neighbor.

PLANTING has started as we work to STRENGTHEN OMAHA’S TREE CANOPY.
🌳🌳🌳

Last week our friends from Jensen Gardens planted the first Elm tree at Hanscom Park!

We are partnering with Plant Nebraska, Omaha Parks and Recreation, and the USDA and are now in the planting phase of the project. This spring we will plant over 300 new trees to replace the trees we removed in these 7 parks:

✅ Levi Carter Park
✅ Benson Park
✅ Hanscom Park
✅ Kountze Park
✅ Dahlman Park
✅ Adams Park
✅ Fontenelle Park

The new trees will replace the dangerous, dying, and diseased trees we removed last fall. The trees will help restore the canopy and keep our parks beautiful and safe!

⚾ Get ready to PLAY BALL! ⚾

Boyd Park has undergone major renovations made possible through strong public-private partnerships. Upgrades include all weather synthetic turf for year round play, a brand new training complex, and improved parking and lighting.

Home to the baseball and softball teams of Omaha Central High School, the revitalized complex will provide student athletes with an enhanced space to train, compete, and grow. ⚾

We’re proud to be a part of this exciting transformation along with MCL, Omaha Parks and Recreation, and many generous donors who helped bring this vision to life.
