⚽ OMAHA NEEDS TO COMPETE! ⚽

For 50 years, TRANQUILITY PARK has been an anchor in our youth sports community. But due to lack of fields and turf conditions, families are forced to travel out of town just to compete, sending regional tournament opportunities to other Midwest cities.

Why TRANQUILITY matters:
⚽ A LEGACY OF PLAY: The complex has proudly served Omaha for 50 years.
⚽ THE HEART OF SOCCER: A massive 64% of all Omaha youth soccer games are played here.
⚽ TRUE COMMUNITY IMPACT: It serves young athletes from every single Omaha ZIP code.

Upgrading TRANQUILITY is about more than just installing new turf. It is a direct investment in our kids, our city’s parks, and the long-term strength of our community. Let’s build a premier sports destination right here at home by supporting the upcoming bond issue. 💚

Remember to vote on or before November 3rd! And thank you to Nebraska State Soccer for sharing these images.

Omaha’s youth deserve fields that match their potential. ⚽️

Today, members of the Building a Better Omaha Committee met with the Omaha Parks Foundation Board to discuss the future of the Tranquility Park Soccer Complex and the opportunity to make much-needed improvements to this important community asset.

The proposed upgrades include additional synthetic turf fields, concessions, and supporting infrastructure. With support from the upcoming bond issue, Tranquility has the potential to become a premier sports destination, giving more Omaha youth the opportunity to play and compete at home while positioning our city to attract regional and national tournaments, visitors, and economic activity.

Why Tranquility matters:
- The complex is 50 years old
- 64% of Omaha youth soccer games are played there
- It serves young people from every Omaha ZIP code
- Current conditions prevent Omaha from competing for regional and national tournaments, sending those opportunities to other Midwest communities

This is more than an investment in soccer fields. It’s an investment in Omaha’s kids, our parks, and our community. 💚

Now 50 years old, Tranquility Park has fallen behind other cities and Omaha deserves better. The OPF advocates for improvements in our city parks. The planned revitalization at Tranquility Park will transform it into a premier soccer destination for youth tournaments, benefiting both our economy and local athletes.

The Building a Better Omaha Committee has launched a citywide campaign urging Omaha voters to approve two General Obligation bond questions on the Nov. 3, 2026, ballot.

The measures would provide new bonding authority for public facilities and park improvements. City officials have identified a proposed joint Omaha Police and Fire headquarters and completion of the Tranquility Park redevelopment as the principal intended projects.

Together, the two questions would authorize up to $155 million for public facilities and up to $30 million for park and recreation improvements.
