Meet Aspen!! Aspen is a petite 2 year old boxer girl with hearing. She loves her people and her foster boxers. She is quite the athlete and high jumper. She jumps into her 6’2” foster dad’s arms with no effort. She challenges her foster brothers to back yard races daily and wins every time. Try telling her she’s too small to do that and she says, “oh yeah, watch this!” Besides playing with her foster boxers and toys, Aspens favorite pastime is cuddling with her people and following them all around the house. She knows some basics like sit and can be easily trained with treats, although she needs just a little work on leash walking.

Aspen came from a hoarding situation and had to move because she was not good with the cats and other livestock. She CANNOT be around cats or small animals. She was kenneled most of the time because of it.

Aspen is a terrific girl, but has some specific needs for her home. Because of her athletic ability and high prey drive, she needs a six foot fence. Also, no cats or small animals in the house. Aspen may knock smaller kids over with her zoomies, so bigger kids are her preference. Aspen loves her foster boxers and would be great with a bigger dog in her home.

Aspen doesn’t stay still long enough to get good photos, but luckily she has videos to show how wonderful she is.

Aspen will be ready for adoption in a week and would love to interview potential homes.

🌈 RIP My sweet, salty, sassy girl! Our forever foster Shiloh came to us in bad shape 6.5 years ago and never left our home. We’ve been through so much together! She will always hold a piece of my heart! If any dog was my spirit animal it was her! 💜 I hope you left this world knowing how much we loved you! There’s never enough time. 🥺 Thank you NPBR for supporting this girl long term! This is rescue 💖

Last week, NPBR foster boy Elvis crossed the rainbow bridge. We had the privilege of fostering him for the last two years. Our house is very quiet without him here, playing fetch in the morning, barking at every delivery truck, grabbing his favorite ball when he's excited and chewing it like gum, constant farts, and being a true velcro dog. We're thankful for the memories he gave us. Those memories help us while we're missing him. 💔

It’s been a rough few weeks for NPBR and one of our hospice fosters. Not only did they have to say goodbye to one, but two of our seniors Vern and Dyson.
Fostering is hard, but fostering a hospice/seniors takes a special heart. A heart that can be broken into a million pieces knowingly and yet continues to open their home time and time again.
Both Vern and Dyson were dumped at their end of life yet, their last years/months were their best at 13+ years. Everything bad that they knew prior to coming into NPBR and their loving foster home disappeared. They knew nothing but love, home cooked food, soft beds, good vet care, and sweet kisses. While we prayed they would have had many more years with us to enjoy the finer things, we are blessed and thankful of the time they had. We are so lucky to have a foster home for our seniors/hospice dogs. Without them, Vern and Dyson would not have been saved.
We are so very thankful for their foster home for giving the boys what they needed during the best time of their lives and seeing them through when their previous owners wouldn’t.
Loosing 1 dog is hard, but 2 so close together is unimaginable. Please keep our foster family in your prayers for healing during this difficult time.
