It is not without a lot of deliberation that we as a board make this announcement to the members. Participation has wanned greatly in attendance and in wanting to help guide the club in the last few years. Three of the current four officers have mostly been involved in the club’s guidance and administration for well over a decade and frankly are getting old and burnt out. We have discussed options and have concluded that unless a group of members want to take over operations of the club by the banquet on February 28th, we will start the necessary steps to dissolve the club.
The club bylaws require that the four officer positions be filled from the ranks of the board members. If there is a group that wants to continue with the club, contact one of the board members or officers and we will get you onto the board and show you in the coming year what keeping the club going involves. If there is interest in continuing the club the current officers; President Jeremy Misfeldt, Vice President Dave Manwarren, and Secretary Vince Smith will help for one year. If no such group has come forward by the annual banquet on February 28th at the Fremont Rural Firehall, we will begin the process of liquidating the physical assets of the club.
This is not something we take lightly, but the torch either needs to be passed or extinguished.
