ENOA Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging
Our Mission: To help older Nebraskans live independently and remain for as long as possible in their own homes.

As one of 622 area agencies on aging created by Congress under the Older Americans Act, the Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging serves families in Douglas, Sarpy, Dodge, Cass, and Washington counties. As one of 650 area agencies on aging created by Congress under the Older Americans Act, the Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging serves families in Douglas, Sarpy, Dodge, Cass, and Washington counties. ENOA

's role is to ensure that the older adults within its region have access to a continuum of services that help them to remain active, independent, and in their own homes for as long as possible. ENOA serves as a gateway to aging services that already exist in the community and also operates its own programs that fill previously unmet needs in the five-county area. Through our nutrition programs, case management services, employment counseling, volunteer opportunities, and community services, ENOA's goal is to enhance the lives of the 85,500 older Nebraskans who live within our service area.

"If you don’t know the name, don’t play the game!" Let unknown callers leave a message and call back only if you recognize the caller.

Did you know answering calls from unknown numbers puts you at greater risk of scams? Let unknown numbers go to voicemail. If it's someone legitimate, you can call them back.

On this week's 'What's Happening Wednesday' we highlight the final week of our Information & Assistance/ ADRC programs. This week focuses on the community outreach this Division does.

This department has been actively engaged in the community through ongoing outreach and education efforts. Staff have attended local events, visited senior centers, and connected with individuals and families to share information, listen to concerns, and help community members understand the services that are available to them. In addition to one-on-one conversations, the department has been intentionally networking with a variety of organizations, including social service agencies, health care providers, senior living facilities, and advocacy groups, to build stronger, more coordinated partnerships that can better support older adults.

As part of these efforts, the department is currently planning the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Resource Fair, which will take place on June 12th. The primary goal of this event is to raise awareness about the many forms of elder abuse — including physical, emotional, financial, and neglect — and to ensure community members know how to recognize it and where to turn for help. The fair will bring together community partners, service providers, and advocates in one location so that older adults, caregivers, and family members can easily access information, ask questions, and connect to support and protective services.
