Happy from Threshold CoC! 🏳️‍🌈 Pride is a celebration of identity and the ongoing fight for equality. Everyone deserves safe, stable housing, but many LGBTQ+ individuals - especially youth - experience housing instability due to discrimination or a lack of support.

Pride reminds us why visibility matters, why equity matters, and why we must continue building housing systems that protect and uplift each member of our community.

From November 1, 2025, through April 30, 2026, the City of Omaha and Threshold CoC led a collaborative effort to provide a more rapid, coordinated, and transparent response to homelessness within city limits. The OMA-EPP addressed homeless encampments through a compassionate, not punitive, approach while adding data-tracking tools to local outreach tactics. We especially appreciate the support of Community Alliance, HEAL Omaha, Siena Francis House, Stephen Center, and Together.

Omaha’s rental market has surged over the past 10 years. In 2015, the average rent for a two-bedroom home was about $950 per month. By 2024, it jumped to $1,371 – an increase of 44%.

This increase has cost-burdened many renters and is a real driver behind homelessness and housing instability in our community
